Questions and Answers

Is it noisy when it rains?
No. Many people think of barn roofs when they think of metal roofs, which bring a big misconception to metal roofing. Barn roofs usually are not insulated as a normal house or building. The steel panel forming process provides not only strength, but also reduces any potential noise transfer when coupled with high density standard attic insulation.
How does the roof deal with high and low temperatures?
Unlike concrete tile or asphalt shingle, which store and transfer heat, metal absorbs and dispels heat quickly. Air flows under the roof which helps prevent the transfer of cold air and reduces freeze thaw cycles in the winter. Easyroof’s Standing Seam is an ULTRA-Cool roof, meaning that there is a chemical in the panel which helps dissipate heat. ULTRA-Cool reflects heat away from buildings making interior spaces cooler. This gives one aesthetic freedom and energy efficiency, complying with the U.S. Green Buildings Council. As a result your house or building will stay cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter leading to lower air conditioning and heating costs.
How will the roof stand against fire?
Steel is noncombustible. It is lightweight and will resist premature roof collapse from an internal fire.
Will moss, leaves, dirt and debris damage or leave impressions on my Roof?
No. A Metal Roof’s smooth surface allows moss, leaves, dirt, and debris to wash off the roof naturally when it rains.
Should I be worried about rust?
No. The heavily layered, hot dipped galvanized G90 steel is coated with a warranted and quality Kynar coating that will prevent rust.
Will hail damage my Metal Roof?
Excessively large hail can damage almost anything, but our Future Roof products have a UL 2218 Class 4-hail resistance rating, the highest rating available. In some states, the class 4 rating entitles homeowners to as much as a 35% reduction on homeowner’s insurance.
How does the price of metal roofs compare to other roofs?
Because metal roofing is a premium home product, you can expect your new roof to cost roughly two o t three times what an asphalt shingle roof costs. However, a metal roof is somewhat comparable in price to tile roofing or cedar shake roofing. If you currently have a slate roof, you can expect your metal roof to cost less.

No matter what kind of metal roofing style you choose, you'll never have to worry about your roof again. Our metal roofs come with a 30-50 year warranty. Moreover, our new metal roof will add to the resale value of your home, save you money on your energy bills, and give you piece of mind that you'll likely never need to re-roof again. You either pay upfront with a metal roof, or pay to re-roof down the road with a shingle roof.
What is the durability of a metal roof compared to common roofing like asphalt or wood shingle?
You can expect a metal roof to last at least 2 to 3 times longer than a regular roof. In general terms, count on a metal roof lasting 50 to 60 years and beyond.

The average life span of an asphalt roof is 12 to 20 years. That lifespan can be shorter depending on the pitch of your roof and the climate in your area. Made of oil impregnated paper or fiberglass, asphalt begins to deteriorate as soon as you expose it to normal weather. A metal roof, however, will never decompose.

Other roofing materials like wood shingle, shake and tile have varying degrees of weather-related problems that lead to the roof breakdown. Wood shingle and shake roofs often need replacement before twenty years. Concrete tile roofs can crack and warp in the freeze/thaw cycle of more northern climates.

Metal roofs will outlast the other roofing products. Your Metal roof will look good and be durable for decades.
How will a metal roof stand up to extreme weather?
Metal roofs can withstand all kinds of sever weather such as extreme hot and cold weather, strong winds, heavy snow, hailstorms, earthquakes, and even wildfires. Metal roofing has a 120-150 mph wind rating depending on the area and product.

In areas with heavy snow, metal roofing has been the choice of homeowners for years. It sheds snow quickly, which protects the structural integrity of the roof. And it can eliminate ice damming at the eves, so water can not back up and collect under the roof then leak into your home.
What is the weight of metal roofs?
Metal roofs are about 1 lb per square foot. Metal roofs on average are 50% lighter than an asphalt shingle roof, 75% lighter than concrete tile, fiber cement shakes and slate, and 1/6 the weight of tradition clay. With metal roofing, weight on a structure will never be an issue.
How long will it take to get and install my roof?
Most orders can be ready in 2-4 weeks. An average house usually takes just a few days to install if the roofing structure is not to complex.
Will my metal roof oil can?
We can guarantee that our roof will not oil can when it comes from our warehouse. Oil canning may occur when on the roof depending on the roofs structure. Having a roof with striations will hide any waves. With a 24 GA metal, oil canning is less likely to occur. If you get into lower gauges like 28 or 29, oil canning is very likely.
